I'm David Grove, a Pittsburgh-based author, historian, musician, and storyteller who believes that stories are everywhere—and everyone has one.
My work spans children's books, political thrillers, historical nonfiction, and essays exploring the people, places, and moments that shape our lives. Whether I'm following a black cat named Cinder on a neighborhood adventure, uncovering Cold War conspiracies in The Vostok Directive, or researching the lives of Civil War soldiers for Allegheny to Andersonville, I'm drawn to stories rooted in curiosity, history, and the human experience.
Beyond the books, Creative Chronicles and my Substack share the research, inspiration, and behind-the-scenes journey of turning ideas into finished stories. From my home in the Pittsburgh region, I write about history, creativity, today's events, and the extraordinary stories hidden in ordinary lives.
Thanks for stopping by the factory. The presses are running, the ideas are flowing, and there are always new stories in the works.
I enjoy hard-boiled mysteries, Cold War thrillers, Westerns, American history, neighborhood adventures, and the simple stories that remind us we're more connected than we realize. From the streets of Pittsburgh to forgotten moments in history, I believe inspiration can be found almost anywhere, because stories are everywhere, and everyone has one.
